Job Hazard Analysis
A Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) also known as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is a different tool than Hazard assessments but with the same intent to work safely.
A JHA is a procedure which integrates safety and health principles and practices into a particular task or job operation. In a JHA, each step of the job is examined to identify potential hazards, determine the level of risk for each hazard based on frequency, probability and severity, and each hazard has controls that are put in place to reduce the risk.
A JHA should be completed before controls are implemented and then reviewed once the identified hazard controls have been implemented.
Can Do Safety has assisted its clients in developing JHAs and many company's also use their JHAs as safe work procedures.
Can Do Safety works with company management, supervisors and particularly with workers in the development and review of JHAs. Workers are encouraged to participate in the process as they have direct knowledge of the task at hand and are the ones at risk.
We have a variety of written JHAs available and we can also develop them as needed. Call us today, 250-983-2385.
